Frequently Asked Questions

Why choose therapy?

There are many ways to work through life's difficulties, including talking to  trusted friends and family members, seeking guidance from spiritual leaders, or by taking classes and read self-help books to learn new skills. However, sometimes we need professional help because a therapist can focus on assisting you to improve you mental, emotional and spiritual well-being, providing you with a safe space to let down your guard. A therapist uses techniques that are tailor made specially for you in order to let you fully explore and heal the pain that is interfering with your emotional health, relationships, and growth.

What is Expressive Arts Therapy?
Expressive Arts Therapy is a form of psychotherapy that uses various art forms, such as visual arts, music, drama, creative writing, dance and movements. It fosters deep personal growth, healing, and transformation through the expression of the creative process.

How do you work with your clients?

I tailor my sessions to work towards the benefits of my clients, whether by using talk therapy, expressive arts therapy, or a combination of both. My holistic approach provides support for individuals who are seeking a deeper level of insight and understanding. By exploring the mind, body, and emotions through the transformative power of arts, I help individuals access their intuitive and imaginative abilities, bringing forth new perspectives and insights. My goal is to create a safe and supportive environment where individuals can explore their inner world and find clarity, meaning and healing.

I am shy and do not have much experience in arts, can I still join your sessions?

I totally understand the anxiety of making arts in front of a stranger. My goal is to provide a non-judgemental and welcoming environment so you will feel safe to express yourself through the creative process, sharing with me in words or through your artwork. As a matter of fact, the focus in arts therapy is in the process of creativity and not the outcome, hence you are not required to have artistic ability. Rather, it is through the use of individual's senses that the imagination can process, flourish, and support healing. All you need is to come with an open mind and willingness to try!

How often will I go to therapy sessions, and for how long?

Therapy typically consists of weekly sessions, which last for 60 minutes. I have found that meeting weekly, particularly in the beginning, improves my clients progress towards their goals. Every person has different needs and therefore the timing varies depending on each person's situation. We will discuss what is best for you.
